Qasr Ibrim is one of the most extensively excavated sites in Lower Nubia. It continues to be the subject of extensive study. The proceedings of a symposium on Qasr Ibrim held at Leiden in December 2009 are forthcoming, edited by Jacques van der Vliet and Joost Hagen.
