Al-Ḥabashī ... a name related to al-Ḥabasha which is a well-known country, the ruler of which was called "an- Najāshī". (MS London fol. 154 r).
An-nūbī ... this adjective is related to the country of the Nūba, who are the Blacks (as-sūdān). It has been reported that the Zanj, the Ḥabasha, the Nūba, Zaghāwa, and Qarān are descendants (wuld) of Za'ba b. Kūsh b. Hām. (ibid., fol. 545 r.).
Az-zanj ... the country of the Zanj is known; it is the country of the Blacks and the Zanj (bilād as-sūdān wa-z-zanj), (ibid., fol. 279 r.).
Al-marīsī ... this adjective is related to Marīs, a village of Egypt. (ibid., fol. 523 v.).
