He held this parade for his own amusement to mock the ''Hajj''.<ref>The Fatimids of Egypt used to mock the Companions of the Prophet and the Sunnite rites.</ref> In the water-skins he carried wine instead of water and gave it to his men to drink, as is done on the Journey to Mecca.
